Room to Reward are delighted to announce a very special initiative – Outstanding Volunteer of the Year. This scheme has been created to recognise and reward those who have made truly special contributions to their charity in the last 12 months or so.

The Background

As regular followers of Room to Reward will know, Simon Maguire – General Manager of Southampton Harbour Hotel and Spa – recently completed a gruelling, 317-mile bike ride from St. Ives to Brighton.

Numerous hotels generously pledged a number of rooms and breaks to support Simon on his fantastic/insane adventure and it’s time for outstanding volunteers to reap their deserved rewards!

Who can be nominated?

Anyone who has gone above and beyond for your charity in the last year or so. From fundraising heroes, tireless campaigners and essential volunteers to staff who have lost count of the extra miles they’ve gone – we want to hear from you!

Where can you go?

Your individual hero will have a choice of hotels all over the U.K. as well as Amsterdam and Paris! The full list will be revealed to nominees once their nominations have been received and approved. All rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis so be sure to get those bookings in quickly!

Already a charity partner?

No worries! You can nominate your outstanding volunteer without impacting your annual nomination allowance. This is an entirely separate initiative focusing on the amazing things Hidden Heroes have done in the last 12 months.

New to Room to Reward?

Welcome! The Outstanding Volunteer initiative is a fantastic way to discover what Room to Reward is all about. You can make your Outstanding Volunteer nomination with no obligation to become a Charity Partner – though of course we’d love to have you on board.

How does it work?

The Outstanding Volunteer nomination process couldn’t be simpler. Rather than going through the usual system, we invite nominations to be emailed directly to outstandingvolunteer@roomtoreward.org. Your email just needs to contain some essential information, including:

  • Your name, your charity’s name and your role in the organisation
  • The name of your chosen nominee
  • A compelling reason as to why they have been nominated. Tell us what they’ve done and why they deserve a special break.

Upon approval, we will ask the nominator to provide us with three possible dates (given by the Outstanding Volunteer) which we will then take to the hotel.

Once again, that all important email address is outstandingvolunteer@roomtoreward.org.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Important Stuff

All rooms are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Nominators will be emailed a list of available rooms when nominations have been received/approved. Room to Reward will update the available list of rooms as bookings are made.

All bookings are subject to availability. If the hotel cannot accommodate the requested date/s then alternatives will be provided.

All bookings MUST be made through Room to Reward, NOT the hotels.
