Nomination Extract

“Lisa’s been a valued member of the Scope Whitby Shop team for well over a decade, carrying out a wide variety of tasks. Always the first to offer assistance, Lisa is reliable to the core. She’s a fountain of knowledge and her passion really shines through. She’s gone above and beyond what was expected of her in her volunteer role, taking on new responsibilities to become a fantastic “buddy” to new volunteers starting in the shop. She happily shares her knowledge in an incredibly kind and easily understood way. She helps to make volunteering with SCOPE more accessible to everyone so that our charity can embrace diversity and include more disabled people as volunteers.”

They Said…

“Thank You to you all for a wonderful stay at Gisborough Hall Hotel. I enjoyed a very peaceful break. The room was beautiful with high ceilings, a huge bed and crisp white linen, the food was amazing and the staff could not do enough for me. It was great to have a break from normal life and I felt well rested.”

What Colleagues Said…

“Lisa having this wonderful break not only lifted Lisa’s spirits but those of all of us who work with her. It was a joy to see Lisa get recognised for all her hard work and be given an opportunity for a break she just would not have had without Room to Reward”
– Paula, SCOPE Whitby Shop Manager

“We couldn’t do what we do at Scope without our volunteers. From helping out in our shops, to supporting disabled people in one of our community hospices, to campaigning, fundraising, cheering at an event, and everything in between, our volunteers are helping to make this country a better place for disabled people. Room to Reward has been a great way to recognise the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. It’s really simple but effective and offers volunteers the opportunity to take a well-deserved break. It’s given us a meaningful way to say thank you and show our appreciation to volunteers.”
– Celia Abbot, SCOPE Retail Volunteering Manager
