Marriott Hotels Join Room to Reward, Pledging Breaks for UK Volunteers
Room to Reward is proud to announce that Marriott UK has formally joined its growing community of hotel partners, with 20 hotels across the UK pledging to donate one break per year in an unsold room to recognise and reward exceptional charity volunteers.
Participating hotels include iconic flagship properties such as Sheraton Grand Edinburgh, JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Sheraton Grand London Park Lane and Marriott Hotel London Grosvenor Square. Alongside these, a broader collection of Marriott-managed hotels have also committed to supporting the Room to Reward programme through the donation of an annual stay.
Several Marriott UK hotels have already taken part in Room to Reward, with a number of inspiring case studies over the past year demonstrating the powerful impact a well-deserved break can have on volunteers. This expanded partnership will now open up even more opportunities for volunteers to enjoy restorative breaks across the UK – giving them the time and space to rest, recharge, and feel truly valued for the vital contribution they make to their communities.
Joanna Chugh, Chief Operating Officer, Europe at Marriott International, said:
“We are proud to be joining Room to Reward supporting the incredible volunteers who give so much to their communities. By donating unsold rooms, our hotels can make a meaningful difference, and we are delighted that our properties across the UK can play a part in recognising and rewarding these inspiring individuals.”
JW Marriott Grosvenor House has already welcomed a Room to Reward guest as part of this expanded commitment, hosting a volunteer from Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, bringing the partnership to life and demonstrating the real impact of the programme. Emma said of her visit: “the whole experience was one we will never forget and we are incredibly grateful to Grosvenor House for being part of Room to Reward.”
Adam Terpening, Trustee at Room to Reward, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Marriott UK to Room to Reward. To have such a prestigious group joining our journey is just amazing and means the nominated volunteers will have even more incredible properties to choose from. We are hugely grateful to Marriott for their wonderful support and seeing the value in putting an unsold room to good use.”
This partnership is particularly significant as Room to Reward celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. In that time, over 950 hotels have signed up, more than 1200 voluntary organisations have registered and over 4000 volunteers have enjoyed a well-earned break in rooms that would otherwise sit empty. In 2025, nearly 1000 volunteers – from organisations supporting the NHS and health and care sector, education, grassroots sports, animal welfare, the environment, mental health, isolation, disability and more – benefitted from a Room to Reward break.
Support from a respected and world-renowned hotel brand such as Marriott International represents a major milestone for the charity and, more importantly, for the wider charity sector that relies so heavily on the dedication, compassion, and commitment of its volunteers.
