Read all about it!
On Friday 28th September, we were delighted to join forces with our good friends at SSAFA – The Armed Forces Charity for a special event to say ‘thank you’ to some of their amazing volunteers in the South West.
An incredible donation from Clevedon Hall made the event possible. MD James Matthews didn’t just donate a room, he gave us his entire stunning venue, including an overnight stay for 25 people plus partners, a three course meal and a champagne reception!
Who better to make us of such a wonderful donation in such a grand, historic building than the oldest military charity?
We have been working with SSAFA since the start of the year to bring this special night together and it more than lived up to expectations!
SSAFA rely on over 6,000 volunteers to help with case work, support active armed forces personnel, veterans, their families, fundraising and all manner of other services.
Many of the volunteers have a history in or connection with the military. There were some amazing stories in the room, people having done extraordinary things in service now doing extraordinary things helping those in the same boat.
The evening was rounded off with tales from Dan and Sian Damon, a husband and wife journalist and photographer team who have covered conflicts all over the world.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of James and the team at Clevedon Hall. His and their generosity made for a fantastic evening for some truly fantastic Hidden Heroes.
